On Sunday October 17th, at their weekly meeting, 43 youth worked on parachutes. These parachutes will drop Bibles and Christian materials down to rebel groups operating in Columbia.
 
These drops will also contain a radio, broadcasting the message of Christ. One of the books dropped is called ”God Loves Terrorists”. This project was brought to us by Christian Bloodworth. We are excited by this project because one of the leaders of this movement is a converted rebel. He accepted Christ after reading the books dropped by others. Our group made 25 parachutes and also included $5.00 in each parachute to purchase Bibles and books for others.
 
On October 22nd the MUMC youth rally, featuring Brent Gambrell Ministries, was a success at our church. We had around 140 in attendance, that included 110 youth, this event was truly enjoyed by all. There was great music and food.
 
On October 30th our youth group helped with Trunk-R-Treat in our parking lot, then the Youth went on a cotton ride (furnished by Frank Fogleman) and joining them was another youth group from Idlewild Presbyterian Church. After the cotton ride they returned to church for some food, music, and a devotional.
 
Currently the youth are gearing up for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Mission projects that they take on every year. “Thanksgiving Dinners” will be delivered to our church members who are homebound. Please call the church office 739-3434 to sign up for this service. If you know members who are homebound, call and make sure they will get one of our delicious Thanksgiving meals.

Ash Wednesday Service
Wednesday February 22nd at 6:00 pm

There will be no church meal. We will observe a solemn fast, and meet in the sanctuary at 6:00 to mark the beginning of the season of Lent. We encourage you to fast on Wednesday if you are able, or to eat very sparingly. Fasting is a biblical means of grace that reminds us of our dependence on God, calls us to pay attention to God’s gifts, and invites us to prayer. Please join us in the Ash Wednesday service, which is a call to repentance and self-examination for the 40 days of Lent.
