Car Decals
Buy a MUMC car decal or bumper sticker and help raise money for new playground equipment! The decals are $10 and bumper stickers are $8. Contact Elizabeth Williams or Teresa Gardner.
Preschool Registration
Registration for the 2012-2013 preschool year will be Tuesday Feb 21st in the education wing of the church. Click here for more details.
Banner Contest
The UMW is sponsoring a contest to design a church banner which will be going to Annual Conference for the parade of banners! Deadline is February 26th. You can find more details by clicking here.
Baby Bottle Fundraiser
The Sister’s Circle is sponsoring the baby bottle fundraiser for Concepts of Truth in Wynne. You can pick up a baby bottle from one of the Circle members at the reception desk after church. Fill it with change or write a check and return it to Paula Howerton, Debbie Scola, Ann Rogers, or the at the church office. Inside each bottle is a form to fill out, and you will be mailed a receipt for your taxes. The bottles should be returned by February 26th, 2012.
Confirmation
If you are sixth grade or older and you have not been confirmed our professed your faith in Christ, you are invited to join our confirmation class! We will meet February 26th at 5:00 pm in the Barbara Smith Family Life Center. Please bring your parents for the first meeting.
Coming Up!
Wednesday February 22nd- Ash Wednesday Service at 6:00 pm. There will be no church meal. We will observe a solemn fast, and meet in the sanctuary at 6:00 to mark the beginning of the season of Lent. We encourage you to fast on Wednesday if you are able, or to eat very sparingly. Fasting is a biblical means of grace that reminds us of our dependence on God, calls us o pay attention to God’s gifts, and invites us to prayer. Please join us in the Ash Wednesday service, which is a call to repentance and self-examination for eh 40 days of Lent.
Sunday February 26th- Bro. Tom begins his series on GRACE with The Need for Grace and the Chancel Choir sings the song He Looked Beyond My Fault.
Sunday March 11th- N2y, KFC, and the Chancel Choir sing Rich Mullins’ I See You, accompanied by the Praise Band.
Sunday April 15th- Drama and music during the 10:45 morning worship service entitled Eyewitness, recounting some events in recorded history that occurred after the resurrection of Jesus and before his ascension.
Sunday April 29th- Wee Praise and n2Y sing at the 10:45 morning worship service.
N2Y & KFC
We will practice with Chancel Choir and Praise Band Wednesday, March 7 from 6:30-7:00 in addition to our regular choir practice that afternoon.
Help us SAVE THE PLANET!
We are back in the recycling business! If you would like to bring your plastics, cardboard and paper, we have located a service that will pick up at the church each week. The recycling containers will be at the exterior back door of the kitchen. We request that if the containers are getting too full, please bring your recycling items back at a later time so that we can avoid creating a mess. Also, please remember that your aluminum cans are also welcome, but they are recycled separately.
